About Pray Lubbock

Creating an atmosphere for revival and

an environment for the Kingdom of God

through prayer

Who We Are

Pray Lubbock is a ministry movement dedicated to bringing individuals, churches, and community leaders together in prayer for the city of Lubbock. Founded on the belief that prayer has the power to transform lives and entire communities, we seek to inspire and lead a united effort of intercession for the spiritual, social, and economic wellbeing of our city.

Our Mission

Our mission is to unite the Body of Christ in prayer across Lubbock, transcending denominational and cultural boundaries, to see God’s will accomplished in our city and beyond. We believe that by coming together in faith and lifting our voices in prayer, we can bring about lasting change and redeem our city toward its intended purpose.

Meet the Executive Director: Steve Doles

Dr. Steven D. Doles serves as the Executive Director of Pray Lubbock, guiding the ministry with a passion for prayer and unity. His leadership has been instrumental in bringing together churches, ministries, and leaders to pray for the transformation of Lubbock. With a heart for the spiritual growth of the city, Steve is committed to seeing God’s power move through collective prayer, so that God's will can be done in Lubbock as it is in Heaven.

Steve has served as Executive Director of Pray Lubbock since 1999. He previously served seven years as youth and Christian education pastor at First Christian, Lubbock, and for four years before that, he was the Associate Pastor at First Christian in Greensburg, Indiana.
Steve is a graduate of Taylor University, Upland, Indiana and has earned Master of Divinity and Master of Arts degrees from Cincinnati Christian University, with one year of his masters-level work completed at the Institute of Holy Land Studies, Jerusalem, Israel. He completed his Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California in the spring of 2002.
In addition to Steve's ministry with Pray Lubbock, he transitioned away from executive director as he served as pastor of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Lubbock from 2010 - 2017 and worked in delivery at Lowe's from 2017-2024.
Steve and his wife, Joy, have been married since 1980 and moved from Indiana to Lubbock in 1991.  They have five grown children, Tony, Stepheni, Jaquan, Travon and BayLynn.
