Come Pray at
the Metro
Tower
Bring Your Group to the Prayer Tower
Arrangements can
be made for your group to pray for our city from the vantage point of
19 stories above street level. This room has been used by youth
groups, church staffs, Christian sororities and fraternities, small
congregations, women's prayer groups and individuals. There is
no charge for this usage but arrangements do need to be made
especially for evening and weekend times. The fire marshal has
recently rated this room's capacity at 49.
Curbside parking
needs to be used during office hours, rather than the adjacent
parking lots. Within a block of the building are ample
one-hour, two-hour and time-unlimited parking places. Before
and after business hours, curbside and parking lot parking are both
unrestricted and available.
This room is a
special gift of God - our own "high place" to retreat to
for prayer. This building also has a spiritual heritage: Built
as the "Great Plains Life Building," damaged in the
1970 tornado and stood condemned for several years, reinforced and
reopened for business, many believe that it has been preserved for a
time such as this for this assignment as Lubbock's high place of prayer
- a place from which eternal life is now it's purpose.
There are a few guidelines for groups in
order to insure that this facility remains available for prayer.
You may arrange
for your prayer group to come pray at the “Prayer Tower” by
contacting Steve at 749-PRAY, or david@praylubbock.com.
