HOW TO PRAY FOR A PASTOR 

PRAY FOR: 

I. His Relationship with the Lord - More Love! 

A. That he will daily encounter (behold) the Lord 

1. In Prayer 

2. In God’s Word 

3. In Worship (and service) 

4. In Fellowship 

B. That his love of the Lord will increase 

C. That he will become more like Christ daily 

D. That the character of Christ will be evident from the Fruit of the Spirit displayed in his life 

E. That he will set himself apart for the Lord's purposes daily 

II. His Relationship with Others - More Love! 

A. His wife 

B. His children (and grandchildren) 

C. The body of believers, co-workers, staff 

D. Those outside the body (the lost) 

III. His Calling to Reflect the Presence and the Power of the Lord 

A. Spiritual Authority 

1. To submit to those over him in authority 

2. To walk in his own authority 

B. Authentic Ministry - to Proclaim, to Heal, to Deliver 

1. Conceived in Prayer 

2. Birthed by Prayer 

3. Carried out with Prayer 

C. His Daily Needs 

1. Health - spirit, soul (mind, will, emotions), body 

2. Provision - everything he needs for life and service 

3. Protection - a hedge around him and all that he loves 

Pray this Psalm over your Pastor: 
"Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high because he has known My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him, and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him, and let him behold My salvation." Ps. 91:14-16
