Pastors
Prayer Summit Convenes at
Church on the Rock, Lubbock
Climbing
the Peak: Spring 2001
As
we prayed inside, Rocky Long set up his "kitchen"
outside.
We
were bless with the Lord's presence and great fellowship!
Below
are attendees at the closing meal -- pastors and spouses.
We
have about 35 in attendance for the prayer sessions and 44
at the final meal. Here was the pre-event publicity...
Mark your
calendars for Monday, May 21.
Plan to block out the whole day for prayer with
co-pastors across the city at the second annual spring
pastors’ prayer summit.
We will gather at Church on the Rock, 10701 Slide
Road, at 10:00 a.m., and spend the day in prayer.
The danger in meeting in our city is that it will be
easy to see this event as a come-and-go event, responding to
pagers and cell phone requests.
The benefit is being close enough to have our spouses
join us for a chuck wagon meal (possibly a steak dinner?!?)
at the end of the day at no extra charge!
The
focus of this prayer summit will be to collectively seek the
Lord about the next level.
Many have enjoyed and benefited from the prayer
opportunities and relationships that have been developed.
But we want to be sure that we don’t get satisfied
with a level of spiritual activity in our city and become
complacent about our final destination – the
transformation or our city.
During the last two summits, we have conducted mini
workshops on particular prayer strategies and concepts.
This summit will consist of directed, focused prayer.
In other words, our goal is not to learn about
prayer, or talk about prayer – we will gather to pray.
